Texas Winter Storm Recovery Resources – Get Help from FEMA

The Texas Winter Storm Recovery Resources includes information and resources designed to help Texans recover from the storm.

FEMA Offers Virtual Home Inspections

FEMA is offering virtual home inspections for Texans whose homes sustained damage during the winter storm. To qualify for a virtual home inspection, you must have applied for FEMA assistance and you must have reported that your home is not safe, sanitary, or functional. For more information, visit Virtual Home Inspections Offered After Texas Winter Storm.

Apply for Assistance from FEMA

FEMA has announced assistance is now available to individuals who have unmet needs related to the winter storm disaster within certain counties. For a list of all counties included, see FEMA’s February 26th press release. Additional counties could come on later as damage assessments continue.

FEMA is meant to help those that are underinsured or noninsured, for not only needs related to housing, but other needs as well. When applying, keep the following in mind:

Apply online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ or call 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585). The toll-free telephone lines operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. CDT, seven days a week. Those who use a relay service such as a videophone, Innocaption or CapTel should update FEMA with their specific number assigned to that service.

For the latest information, visit the FEMA website which is updated every hour.
