Texas Winter Storm Recovery Resources – Dealing with Damages and Repairs
The Texas Winter Storm Recovery Resources includes information and resources designed to help Texans recover from the storm.
Home Repair Assistance: Houston-Harris County
If you are a resident of the City of Houston or Harris County and your home was damaged by the winter storm, you can submit a 2021 Winter Storm Home Repair Application. Please note that the successful submission of your application is not a guarantee of home repair assistance.
If you do not have access to technology or the internet to fill out the survey, you can contact the 211 Texas/United Way HELPLINE to be connected with The Alliance, which will assist you in the application process. To contact 211, dial 211 or 713-957-4357.
Evictions Due to Damage and Repairs
If your landlord is evicting you so damage caused by the winter storm can be repaired, learn about your rights and options in our Can My Landlord Evict Me Due to Damage from the Winter Storm? handout.
The resources below include information about filing insurance claims, working with adjusters, how deductibles work, and more. If you have a question about insurance, you can call the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Help Line at 1-800-252-3439, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time. How to Request Repairs from Landlord
As Texans continue to face the effects of a record-breaking winter storm, they’re faced with new issues, like broken pipes or plumbing problems that have caused flooding and other damage in their homes. Texas renters have a right to ask their landlord for repairs. Check out Renter’s Rights, How to Request Repairs from Landlord from Lone Star Legal Aid.
