Pro bono attorneys are vital to the success of Disability Rights Texas. Without our pro bono lawyers and law firm partners, the number of clients that we serve would be very limited. We rely on pro bono attorney volunteer hours to assist and support each legal issue team throughout Texas to advise, assist, and zealously represent our clients and protect their rights. A majority of members of both the Board and Council must be persons with disabilities or family members of persons with disabilities. The Board and PAIMI Council value diversity of culture, disability and other life experiences.
In order to assure that both reflect, to the greatest extent possible, the geographic and ethnic diversity of Texas, Disability Rights Texas encourages individuals from rural areas, bilingual and distinct ethnic communities, and other traditionally underserved communities to apply for positions.
The Board and PAIMI Council Nominating Committees will review all applications, select some candidates for an interview, and make recommendations to the Board and the PAIMI Council.
